Forthcoming: Our First Publication

Ehipassiko Press, LLC is excited to announce the publication of our first title: Bhanthe Sankichcha’s Learning from Others: A Dhamma Talk and Reflective Journal.

Learning from Others begins with a short essay followed by questions designed to help you reflect on how you can learn from other humans, animals, and nature.

Because plenty of space is provided for you to reflect on the questions, “Learning from Others” doubles as a journal. Although it is written from a Buddhist perspective, Learning from Others contains valuable insights for anyone interested in learning.

If we find no errors in the page proofs when we review them over the weekend, we will release Learning from Others on Monday, July 10.

The book will be released for free on our website. A paperback edition will be available through Amazon for $3.83, the cost of production. Ehipassiko Press make no income on any sales through Amazon.

Selecting an Official Logo

We are in the process of selecting the official logo for Ehipassiko Press, LLC. Here are the three finalists that we are considering. Which design do you think should become our logo?

All three logos were designed by Erica Firment.

UPDATE: Logo #03 was the overwhelming preference and the one we selected.

The first option shows a lotus flower in a circle. The second option shows a lotus flower over the name of the press. The third option shows and "E" and "P" intertwined with leaves over the name of the press.

Ehipassiko Press Formed

Yesterday, our attorney filed the paperwork to launch Ehipassiko Press, LLC.

Ehipassiko is a Pali word often translated “Promoting Investigation.” Yesterday, our attorney filed the paperwork for us to establish Ehipassiko Press, LCC.

Ehipassiko Press will publish Open Educational Resources (OERs) primarily in the fields of education, spirituality, and addiction recovery. Because of our commitment to quality education, Ehipassiko Press will also publish textbooks and workbooks in any discipline.

Ehipassiko Press, LLC has an unconventional business strategy in that we have no income stream. Our books are released online for free. Paperback versions are available through Amazon where they are sold at cost of printing. Neither the authors nor the press receive royalties or any other types of compensation. The editors and other people involved with producing books published by Ehipassiko Press do so on a volunteer basis. Expenses for the press are covered by the publisher.

Although our practices are strongly influenced by the Buddha Dhamma, we are not a Buddhist Press. We will publish books from a variety of spiritual and secular traditions.

Our first book is scheduled to be published in July 2023.
